Khakis Vintage Week
From May 9th to 16th, 2025, Khakis hosted the first Khakis Vintage Week event at our Seongsu flagship store, presenting a curated archive of vintage outdoor items. In collaboration with Soobaak Vintage, Makezerozone, and Vindok, the event highlighted outdoor brands from the 1980s to 1990s, including L.L.Bean, Eddie Bauer, and Patagonia.
Khakis Vintage Week was built around the concept of functionality shaping form, a defining characteristic of outdoor gear from that era. Items selected by each collector were brought together under a shared curatorial framework, offering a unified presentation despite their diverse origins.
Opening with Utility Coffee Roasters and Scoff, the event featured a summer-ready collection of vintage short-sleeve tees, shorts, fishing vests, and backpacks. The items were presented alongside the Khakis original line and a range of outdoor brands, coming together to form a curated installation within the Seongsu store. It offered a rare opportunity to directly engage with the heavy-duty functionality and structural aesthetics of the era.
At Khakis, we approach vintage items not as traces of a bygone era, but as
records and reference points to be reinterpreted through the lens of today’s
standards. This archival project was a spatial expression of that perspective,
offering an opportunity to reflect on the balance between utility and detail.
